Located an hour and a half north of Calgary, the Red Deer River begins its journey high in Alberta's Canadian Rockies
and meanders its way through the foothills and across the parkland and prairie of Central Alberta. This region offers
much in the way of excellent Alberta fly fishing for those willing to make the extra effort. The Red Deer River itself is
beautiful, with plenty of long glides, riffles, backwaters, high banks and dense logjams providing excellent cover for brown
trout. The section that we guide on begins below the Dickson Dam. With it's limited access points, float trips are ideal,
with some fine areas for walk and wade fishing. It is a trout fishing diamond in the rough. A trip to Alberta would not be
complete without a fly fishing trip on the "Blue Ribbon" Bow River or a trip into the Canadian Rockies to fish the pristine
