Garry, a native Albertan, grew up in central Alberta, where
his love of the outdoors and fly-fishing began at the early age
of 8 years. Armed with an 8.5' fiberglass pole, he set out to
cut his teeth, fly fishing for some of the toughest, elusive,
large brown trout that spring creeks and other local waters had
to offer. Garry's passion for fly-fishing has taken him to the
remote areas of Alaska, Southern Chile and many places in between,
hunting for that photo of a trophy. His knowledge of entomology,
assures that the right fly is used at the right time in the right
place. His awareness of the fish and their habits, makes him a
crucial part of turning a fishing trip into a catching trip
Connie, Garry's wife and partner in the company has many years of professional experience in the food services industry. Every meal is prepared from scratch using fresh, quality ingredients. Connie's behind the scene preparations ensures that your day is a pleasant one. You will never go home hungry on one of our trips.
Her favourite part of the guiding company is meeting people from all walks of life from around the world that share the same love of the outdoors and a passion for fly fishing.
In her spare time, Connie enjoys flyfishing with her husband or working in her garden.
Garry and Connie know this area intimately having lived and
fished here for most of their lives. With home just minutes from
the Red Deer River, Garry knows this river, and many others in
Central Alberta, like most of us know our walk or drive to work.
Like any good guide Garry is "dialed in" on a daily basis to such
critical information as water levels, hatches, and fish location.
